“Lotus Journey”
The name Lotus Journey reflects both our origins and our evolution. Inspired by the lotus flower — long cherished by our founder for its beauty — the name has grown to represent resilience, transformation, and thriving by remaining deeply connected to one’s environment. Rooted in nature and water, the lotus flower reflects a philosophy that shapes how we approach hospitality, travel, and community across Indonesia. Paired with the word Journey, it speaks to a continuous path of growth and transformation in harmony with nature…for our guests, our communities, and ourselves.

Lotus Journey
Lotus Journey’s roots in Indonesian hospitality run deep. Long before the first resort joined our collection, since 1977 our founder was already shaping how travel took form across this archipelago, contributing to some of Indonesia’s earliest and most significant tourism projects. That foundation gave us a genuine understanding of this country, its people, and what it means to welcome guests into some of Indonesia’s most extraordinary places.
Over the decades that followed, we grew into the collection you find today. Each property was chosen for its character: A quiet beachfront hideaway in Bali. A coral-fringed island in North Sulawesi. A liveaboard blending traditional Phinisi craftsmanship with modern comfort. In 2020, we launched a renewed vision committing to regenerative hospitality that’s not just an aspiration, but a practice across all resorts, liveaboards, and diving experiences. Today, Lotus Journey continues to make a long-term, positive impact on the host communities and natural environments we call home.
