Your safety during each dive is our priority
We run dual Alkin compressors alongside a Renner Nitrox Membrane system. Complimentary Nitrox is provided for all Nitrox-certified divers.
Each boat is prepared with emergency oxygen, comprehensive first aid kits, and marine VHF radios.
Primary medical care is available at hospitals in Morotai (basic) and Tobelo (moderate). For serious medical emergencies, evacuation flights can be coordinated out of airports in Morotai and Kao. The nearest hyperbaric chamber is located in Manado. Because of our remote location, valid dive accident insurance is mandatory for all divers. We are a DAN Insurance Partner and can arrange short-term coverage directly on-site if needed.
Our operations are optimised for recreational backmount configurations, with rental stock of Mares BCDs and regulators serviced annually. All scuba cylinders undergo hydrostatic testing every five years.
Our standard ratio is a maximum of 4 divers per guide, in line with the group-wide standard across Lotus Divers.
All divers are required to complete and pass the standard PADI medical screening questionnaire prior to in-water activities, helping to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every guest, guide, and dive group. If any conditions are flagged, a physician’s sign-off is mandatory before diving.
Every member of our dive team is trained in Emergency First Response (EFR). We do not conduct decompression diving or diving outside of certification limits. To ensure safety and comfort, a refresher is mandatory for any guest who has not dived for an extended period.
